Play Live Poker

Poker is one of the shiniest stars of casino games. Unlike many other casino games, poker doesn’t rely solely (but also) on luck. To master this fascinating game you will need skill, experience and, of course, luck. The element of luck plays a smaller role in this popular game because even if you are having a bad night and you are only being given low cards, you can still be the winner by tricking all your opponents with some clever bluffing. So, what is it going to be? Are you counting on luck or are you ready to have nerves of steel and keep your best poker face while you trick everyone into victory? Show us your skills at Live Poker!

Live Poker comes with plenty of features to make your game a memorable experience: You will be playing against real live opponents that you can interact with via an avatar, selected by you, virtual presents and chat options. You can also play online poker with your friends and see who has the skills and who doesn’t.

Your aim at Live Poker is to come up with the best card combination out of all your fellow players or to bluff your way through the betting rounds, causing other players to fold. What is Live Poker

Even if you are very used to playing poker, mastering live poker requires a different set of skills. Perhaps the most important adjustment to live poke strategy is patience and having a deeper understanding of variance.

You must be very patient. Instead of making too many quick decisions, the big difference with live poker compared to online poker is the speed and getting as much information as possible before putting your chips into play. This includes reading your opponents, but it also means paying more attention to previous actions and more.

Fundamentally the best way to win live poker is to improve your online game and then making mental adjustments to the pace and speed of live poker is the best way to adapt to the game.

Strategy and tips for live poker

Live Poker is all about controlling your emotions and being a good reader of other players emotions and reactions. For sure your cards are important, but your body language game might be what divides the novices from the masters. From the moment you start playing every move counts. It is important that you watch how each player is looking at their cards and study every reaction. Is he demonstrating something? Is he calm or does he look nervous? Those are questions you will be asking yourself the entire game.

It's also important that you understand what everyone is talking about at the poker table. If the player tells you what he does or why he folded in a certain hand, pay attention because this information might come in hand for the next rounds. On the other hand, always avoid commenting with the other players on how you play your hands. Remember: you want to get information about the other players but they also want to get information from you. The more information you share, the more transparent you become to your opponents!

Another important tip to keep in mind is to always think about the amount of your bet before you place it. It's important that you think about the action and then do it so you can always be confident (even if it’s fake confidence) to the eyes of your opponents.

Look for patterns! This tip can serve you for both online and live poker. A player who always bets half the pot when he has value, or bets the pot when he's bluffing, does it without realizing it. These are patterns that a lot of players have and you have to make mental notes about them.

Last but not least, don't become a target. This is especially true for very aggressive players. As players start 3-betting and 4-betting you more often because you're playing a lot of hands, try to reduce the number of hands played a bit so you don't become a target at the table and make your gameplay easier.

Types of poker tournaments

It is possible to find poker championships in different formats, with various betting alternatives.

Find out what these different types of poker tournaments are:

Multi-Table Tournaments

For those who want to win big money in one poker tournament, multi-table tournaments are the best option. They are also the best known among all types of online poker tournaments available.

The tournament is played with multiple tables simultaneously, each with a certain number of players. As participants are eliminated, tables are rebalanced. To participate, the player pays the buy-in (entry) and receives a starting stack equal to all other participants. Unless it is allowed to buy more chips during a certain period, elimination from the tournament takes place when the player loses all chips. The mission in a multi-table tournament is to accumulate as many chips as possible and reach the payout positions. At the final table, of course, are the biggest prize pools.

Reaching the prize pool is a difficult goal to achieve, but it yields a huge payout compared to the amount invested to enter the tournament.

Sit & Go's

Sit & Go poker tournaments are very popular. They are usually played at only one table and do not have a time to start. When vacancies are filled, competition begins. In online poker, with the large volume of players willing to participate, these tournaments take just a few minutes to start.

Prizes are varied and depend on the number of participants in the tournament. At 9-player tables, prizes are usually awarded to the top 3 finishers. The Sit & Go format championships are valid for those who want to gain more experience, before moving on to multi-table tournaments, which have a greater number of opponents.

Fifty50 Tournaments

Fifty50 tournaments are a variation of single table Sit & Go tournaments. At Fifty50, the event ends when half of the participants are eliminated. So, in a 10-player Fifty50 tournament, 5 will be paid. Half of the prize pool is distributed equally among the 5 winners and the other half is distributed equally among the same 5 players based on their chip count at the end of the event. Players between 6th and 10th place do not win anything.

Shootout Tournaments

Shootout tournaments are similar in format to multi-table and Sit & Go tournaments.

There are several participants, but each player only remains at one table. When there is a winner of the starting table, players are brought together at new tables, until a tournament winner is defined.

Head-Up Tournaments

Among Shootout tournaments, there are those that are Head-Up. In this format, also known as heads-up play, players are paired up and play a grouping tournament until only one player remains.

Turbo Tournaments

Turbo poker tournaments are made especially for those who don't have a lot of time to play.

These championships have formats similar to MTTS or Sit & Go, but force players to make faster decisions, accelerating the speed of the dispute. There are also Hyper-Turbo tournaments, where the starting stack is small and the blinds go up quickly.
